Butterfly JH8230A

The Butterfly JH8230A is the entry model in the JH8X30A series — a mechanical household sewing machine for beginners, students and households in Bangladesh who need the essentials done well. It keeps things simple with 8 built-in stitch patterns and dial selection, while retaining the same aluminium frame and automatic threader as the higher models in the series.

Its 8 stitch patterns cover straight, zigzag and the basic utility stitches most home sewing needs, and the 4-step buttonhole handles closures. Stitch length adjusts from 0 to 4mm and the machine sews at up to 750 stitches per minute under foot-pedal control. Adjustable thread tension and presser foot pressure, reverse feed, an automatic thread cutter and an automatic bobbin winder round out the everyday toolkit, and twin-needle sewing and free-motion embroidery with the darning plate are both supported.

Like the rest of the series it uses an integral aluminium framework with a shuttle hook, measures roughly 350 × 170 × 275mm and weighs about 5.8kg. The detachable accessory box converts the bed into a free arm, the handle folds away for storage and a built-in LED lights the work area.
