Butterfly JHQ60A

The Butterfly JHQ60A is the most fully featured mechanical machine in Butterfly's household range. It combines 32 built-in stitch patterns with a 1-step buttonhole, a vertical rotary hook and a drop-feed function — a specification set normally found on considerably more expensive machines, and the reason it appeals to serious home sewers and quilters in Bangladesh.

Two features set the JHQ60A apart from the rest of the mechanical range. It uses a vertical rotary hook rather than the shuttle hook fitted to the JH5000, JH8000, JH8X30A and JHK series, which runs more smoothly and quietly at speed. It also has a proper drop-feed device, letting you lower the feed dog at the flick of a control for free-motion quilting and thread painting, instead of relying on a cover plate.

The stitch controls are unusually generous too: 32 patterns, stitch length adjustable from 0 to 4mm and zigzag width adjustable from 0 to 6mm — the widest zigzag in the range. An automatic needle threader, thread cutter, automatic bobbin winder, adjustable thread tension and adjustable presser foot pressure complete the picture. An 85W motor drives it at up to 750 stitches per minute, on an integral aluminium framework measuring roughly 360 × 150 × 270mm and weighing about 5.8kg.
